“I have wiped the slate clean,
No more reminders from the past.
Memories of what I have been,
Have vanished at long last.
I look forward to my future new,
Where all is territory strange.”
These lines by Bernard Shaw resonate in my mind as I take the wind beneath my wings and step beaming into this new phase of my life. While trying to grapple with the turning 21 phase where career and future miraculously begin to appear as an overpowering single entity exceedingly disturbing in nature, I quietly let this feeling sink in. This feeling marked by the immense joy of molding my life as I always envisaged it, the pride of not cowering down to the laid dogmas, the thrill of faltering only to surmount the estimated expectancies and the colored dreams that sparkle in my eyes leave me thirsting. Thirsting to achieve that which lies beyond the boundaries.
From the ironed uniforms and rolled socks, the insecurities and inhibitions, the shiny black robes and graduation hats….its time yet again to gracefully embrace this new lease of life.
I smile. As I know perseverance, dedication and undreamt dreams have seldom let a man down.
