When I started blogging I had no idea where this…
Crop top, maxi skirt with a thigh high slit, DylanLex inspired jewellery (at a fraction of the price!), highest pair of heels and a mad hairdo sums up to all different kinds of awesome! Now if I were to rewind by five years I would never imagine myself in this outfit. Then it was all about ‘pretty’, and in hindsight, the safe and predictable. But over the years I’ve grown to step out of my comfort zone to take risks (sartorial and otherwise) and now I rarely think twice before clashing prints, ditching rules and teaming two pieces seldom paired together. And that’s exactly how I look at life too today. It’s not surprising then that this shift in my personal style graph is exactly in tandem with how I’ve evolved as a person with the passage of years. That’s the thing about fashion. It’s merely an extension of who you are. So when they said “You are what you wear”, they surely knew what they were talking about.
Getting back to the outfit, this is what I wore for the first day at Lakme Fashion Week. Besides getting to catch up with all the ‘fashion people’ and blogger friends, the highlight of my day was a makeover with TIGI Bed Head in association with POPxo. I’ve always been a TIGI fan (who can resist that delectable packaging with the most fun product names?!) and when the hairstylists at the TIGI Bed Head style suite told me they wanted to go crazy with my hair inspired by DylanLex, I knew I was indeed in for a mega makeover. Macaroons, cupcakes, champagne, a banter with them leading ladies at POPxo and some hair lovin’ later I had this MAD hairdo that I couldn’t help but fall in love with. Edgy with the right amount of glam – this hairdo totally nailed the look I was going for with my outfit and topped it off with the right amount of spunk! Needless to say, the fabulous stylists at TIGI Bed Head and very sweet POPxo team made this LFW experience a lot more glamemorable.
