As mentioned in Trend Report Spring/Summer 2011, maxis are big this…
You will never spot me wearing a pair of flats! If not in my trusty pair of wedges/block heels for meetings or in a pair of sky high stilettos for a tad fancier occasions, I am usually in my flip-flops (with some heels!). Be it sourcing for styling assignments, a shoot where I am on my feet for more than 12 hours straight, road trips or even when just running errands – flip-flops are a go-to in my wardrobe. I remember spending all of my college life in flip-flops as nothing else would beat its comfort and commuting by train on a daily basis then meant a practical choice of footwear.
Now there are many brands in the market who offer a rather wide range of footwear with everything from kitten heels to wedges and pumps to flats but it’s the flip-flop category that almost always receives a step motherly treatment. The choices are severely restricted and if you (like me) are a sucker for that extra inch or two of height when looking for flip-flops, chances are that you have been disappointed more than once. Realising this, the guys at Tangerine Toes took over the flip-flop reign in their hands and, I must admit, are doing a rather swell job at it!
Tangerine Toes understands how flip-flops are the first choice when it comes to comfort for almost everybody and they thus cater to all kinds of audience – men, women and kids. They also know how flip-flops can be made to transcend the monsoon-wear tag giving it an uber fashionable spin. Drop by at any Tangerine Toes kiosk and you will be spoilt for choice. Bright colours for your everyday routine, quirky prints and patterns for the bohemian soul, glitter et al to perfectly compliment traditional wear, sequins for those late night home parties and dinners – there’s a pair for everyone and for every occasion at Tangerine Toes. What seals the deal is that all the flip-flops at Tangerine Toes are priced between Rs. 499- Rs. 1699! If I had to sum up why I am always found in their flip-flops, the justification would be rather simple – it’s comfort, style and variety that comes with a reasonable price tag.
