My association with M&S runs back to the launch of their very first store in India. And ever since then, I have been connected with the brand – be it shopping regularly at their store for my fix of denims and blazers or witnessing their store expansion and latest collection, season after season. So when I received the invite for the launch of M&S’s latest S/S collection #StyleStrides with an accompanying dessert in a jar, I knew the evening was going to be a rather memorable affair.
If you’ve been following me on Instagram and Twitter you must have already seen all my live updates from the launch day and little do I need to tell you how M&S managed to bring London to Bombay for this launch with its adorable set up and attention to minor details. Right from the iconic red telephone booth to London Eye that served the cutest assortments of cupcakes, the decor was a precursor to the promising evening ahead. And spectacular it all indeed was as M&S unveiled its latest S/S collection with aplomb and fanfare!
It started with the much loved M&S lingerie collection that ranged from the classics to the ones with a flirty twist in a palette of black, red and blue. Being a complete beach bum, I was totally sold on the swimwear capsule that included everything from bikinis to monokinis! In pop colors punctuated with neons, the collection had me wanting to pack my bags for a long summer vacay. While the signature M&S pieces dominated with pencil fit skirts and shirts for women, there were an equal number of options for men with linens and light layering. What took me by surprise was the dash of edginess and spunk with some of the casual pieces. The denim overalls being an absolute favorite!
By the time Yami Gautam walked the ramp as the showstopper for the launch, I already had made up my mind about the pieces I wanted to pick up from the store with linen culottes like the ones I wore here, a few swimwear additions and the pastel hued skirts topping the list. So if you too like me are looking for some stylish options to combat the sweltering Bombay heat, drop by at your nearest M&S store to give the new collection a peak. I am sure you will not be disappointed!
