Gone are the days when pretty girls sought refuge in…
As you may have seen on my Instagram account and Snapchat (follow me at @streakhuefall if you haven’t already!), last week I attended Beauty Carnival organised by Westside to celebrate the launch of their brand new beauty line ‘StudioWest’. With everything from body lotions to shower gels and a rather delectable variety of lipsticks to eyeshadows, StudioWest had us all impressed by covering practically everything one would look out for in the beauty category under one label. To demonstrate how one could use the products, makeup expert Pallavi Symons took us through a range of looks and shared some makeup tips and tricks too. And it was clear that their tagline ‘My Beauty Playground’ made complete sense.
I decided to put StudioWest makeup products to test by creating a complete makeup look only from the newly launched range and decided to go the metallic smokey eyes look paired with bold lips route. So I started with some StudioWest liquid foundation in the shade Amber and sealed it with some compact in the same shade. The liquid foundation is light and easy to work with, making it your go-to for most occasions. However, it may not be ideal if you’re looking for heavy coverage. The Crystal Eyeshadow from Pure Passion line was an effortless winner to create the smokey eyes and I was surprised at how pigmented every single stroke was! So if you think smokey eyes is a lot of effort and requires some serious skill, I suggest you invest in this product for some fabulous results. I completed the eyes with some Luscious Mascara and used the Intense Kajal (glides on like a dream!) in the shade Black to tightline my eyes. The best part was how the eye makeup didn’t move one bit even until the end of day! Some blush in the shade Bronze from Maaya range and a dash of lipstick and I was done! A special mention to the StudioWest lipsticks – you have to check out all the colors when you’re at Westside next as they have a crazy variety that’s bound to leave you swatching and swatching some more.
Nikita and I decided to take the editorial approach with this makeup post and I couldn’t have been happier with how the makeup translated into pictures. I also received a bunch of other makeup products from Maybelline, L’Oreal, LYN and Lakme that I will be trying out in the coming days and posting about on Instagram. So make sure you stick around. As far as StudioWest is concerned, they officially have a fan in me and I cannot wait to try out some new makeup looks with them!
